What moves the price above starting at $800
- Height and spread within the range. A 35 foot tree with a tight crown is a different day than a 55 footer spreading over two properties, even though both count as medium.

A tree this size almost always carries a trunk over 15 cm DBH, which is Mississauga's threshold in some zones, and frequently over the 20 cm thresholds in Burlington and Woodbridge, where Vaughan's By-law 177-2025 offers a simplified stream for dead, hazardous, or EAB-killed trees with no arborist report required. Toronto and Etobicoke regulate at 30 cm DBH measured at 1.4 metres, and ravine-protected land there is regulated at any size. Brampton's By-law 317-2012 also uses 30 cm, with exemptions that include hazardous trees and trees within 2 metres of an occupied building.
