The Ontario Arborist respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect when you contact us, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We follow Ontario's provincial privacy guidelines and Canada's federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
When you submit our quote form, contact us by phone, or email us, we collect:
- Name, phone number, and email address
- Property address (for the on-site visit)
- Description of the work you want done
- The page you submitted from and the time of submission
If you call us, the call may be recorded and transcribed for service-quality purposes. We use Twilio for our phone system. Recordings are stored securely and not shared.
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Get back to you about your quote or job
- Schedule the on-site visit
- Send you the written quote
- Follow up on past jobs (e.g., asking how the tree is doing post-pruning)
We do not sell your information, share it with marketers, or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep customer records for as long as you remain a customer plus 7 years for tax/business records purposes. Quote requests that don't turn into jobs are deleted within 12 months.
Where it lives
Form submissions are stored in our Supabase database (hosted in Canada). Phone records live in Twilio. Email lives in Gmail. All three providers comply with industry-standard security practices.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you have the right to access the information we hold about you and to ask us to correct or delete it. Email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request" and we'll respond within 30 days.
Cookies
This website uses minimal cookies, only what's needed to make the site work. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking. The form submission timestamp is stored as a cookie for fraud prevention only.
