Most of our work is chainsaw work, but a surprising amount of tree trouble in the GTA is paperwork trouble. An arborist report is the written assessment cities typically want to see before approving a removal permit, and it is also what an insurance company wants after a storm drops half a silver maple on your garage. Permit assistance is exactly what it sounds like: we confirm whether your city regulates your tree at all, and if it does, we prepare and file the application so it goes through the first time. The permit rules change at every municipal boundary. Toronto regulates private trees at 30 cm diameter and anything on ravine-protected land at any size. Mississauga goes as low as 15 cm in some zones. Milton and Halton Hills mostly have no private tree permit at all.
