Why customers pick us

Fast on-site quotes

Same-day or next-day site visit during business hours. Written quote before any work starts. No obligation.

๐Ÿ’ฌ

Real human, real local

You talk to the person doing the work, not a call-center. We know which neighborhoods have tree bylaws, where parking is tight, and which species are common.

๐Ÿงน

Cleanup included

Every job includes branch and debris haul-off, sawdust raked up, and the area left tidier than we found it. No surprise cleanup invoice after.

South Ontario arborist FAQs

The questions we get asked before booking, answered straight.

How much does tree work cost in south Ontario? +

Cost depends on three things. Size of the tree, access (can the truck and chipper pull up, or do we carry brush 100 feet through a back garden), and what is around the tree (house, fence, power line, neighbour's shed all change the rigging required).

Small backyard removals with clean access land on the lower end. Heritage-tree pruning, rope-down work over a tight downtown lot, or escarpment-side wind-throw cleanup take more time and rigging, so they cost more.

We do a free on-site visit and give you a written quote before any cutting starts. Permit application fees (where required) are paid to the city directly and quoted separately.

Do you respond same-day for storm damage and fallen trees? +

Yes during business hours (Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm). Fallen trees, branches on houses, and anything blocking a driveway jump to the front of the queue.

We do not offer round-the-clock or after-hours emergency service. Messages left after hours are returned first thing the next morning, and property-damage calls get priority on the schedule. For a tree already on your roof, call first thing the next business morning and we will have someone on-site that day.

Do you carry insurance and follow safety standards? +

Yes to both. We carry liability insurance for the work we do, and we can send the current insurance certificate before the job if you want one on file.

On the work itself we follow ISA pruning standards. Cuts at the branch collar (not flush, not stubbed), no more than 25 percent of live canopy removed in a single visit, no topping, no lion-tailing.

Roping and rigging on tight properties so nothing hits the house, fence, or garden. Hard hats and chainsaw chaps on every job.

Which south Ontario cities do you cover? +

We work in Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Whitby.

Surrounding areas across Durham, Halton, Peel, Hamilton-Wentworth, and parts of Waterloo Region are also in routine rotation. We travel further for larger jobs when the schedule allows. If your address is not on the city list, call or send a quote request and we will tell you on the first call whether we can fit it in.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in my city? +

Most south Ontario cities now have private-tree bylaws, and the thresholds vary.

  • Toronto and Hamilton kick in at 30 cm DBH.
  • Burlington at 20 cm DBH.
  • Mississauga at 15 cm DBH in some zones.
  • Oakville at 76 cm circumference (about 24 cm diameter), one of the strictest in the GTA.
  • Whitby at 30 cm DBH.
  • Kitchener-Waterloo varies by district.

We check the bylaw on the on-site visit before quoting, so you do not get stuck with paperwork after the work is booked. For Toronto, Mississauga, and Oakville specifics, see our tree removal permit guide.

What is included in cleanup after the job? +

Every job includes branch and debris haul-off, sawdust raked up, and the area left tidier than we found it. No surprise cleanup invoice after the work is done.

If you want the wood for firewood, we can buck it to length and stack it instead of hauling. Stump grinding is a same-day add-on if you want the stump gone too.

What kinds of trees and jobs do you handle? +

Full tree takedowns from small backyard trees up through large mature oaks and maples. Pruning (deadwooding, crown thinning, hazard limb removal). Stump grinding 6 to 12 inches below grade. Emergency response for storm damage and fallen trees.

Common calls in our service area: emerald ash borer removals, silver maple deadwooding, Norway maple end-of-life removals, and heritage oak pruning on big Oakville and Westdale lots.

One job type we recommend a specialist for: utility-line work where the tree is in direct contact with live power. Those need a Hydro One or local utility line crew, not a residential arborist.

How fast do I get a quote, and is it free? +

The on-site visit is free, and the written quote usually follows within 24 hours of the visit. For most calls, the visit itself happens within 24 to 48 hours of your first phone call.

We will not start any cutting until you approve the quote in writing. If the job turns up something extra mid-work, we stop and re-quote rather than tack it on later.

Still on the fence? Most calls get answered same business day during hours.
